Dear Visitors,
Welcome to the website of the Embassy of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria in Finland. I thank you for your interest in Algeria and the activities of the Embassy.
The Embassy aspires this website to be your window to Algeria, the largest African and Arab country, its people, government, culture and history, and to provide you with a snapshot of the political, economic and cultural developments on Algeria.
Serving the Algerian citizens in the diaspora is one of the main reasons for the presence of the diplomatic mission. The Embassy strives to provide the consular services to Algerians residing in Finland. The Consular Section also provides services to Finns and foreigners.
The main role of the Embassy is to further promote and strengthen bilateral relations. Algeria and Finland enjoy traditional relations of friendship and cooperation. Finland was amongst the first countries to recognize the independence of Algeria on July 3,1962, and opened an embassy in Algiers as soon as the diplomatic relations were established on January 18, 1963. The Algerian Embassy in Stockholm, which opened in 1963, was in charge of Finland until the opening of the embassy in Helsinki in 2016.
As a country, people, and economy, Finland has an excellent reputation in Algeria. Finnish companies and businessmen are most welcome. The Algerian market offers large and diverse opportunities in almost all fields. Finnish expertise is welcomed particularly in areas such as telecommunications, IT, industrial and agricultural machineries, forestry management, circular economy, waste management, renewable energy, and water management. The Finnish market is also open to Algerian companies. In brief, promoting the economic diplomacy between the two countries is a significant part of the Algerian Embassy’s role in Finland.
I wish you an enjoyable visit
