Press release
As representative of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid TEBBOUNE, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ramtane LAMAMRA, will take part in the 5th edition of the “Paris Forum on Peace” which will be held in the French capital, from November 10 to 12, 2022, under the theme “Overcoming the multi-crisis”, at the invitation of the President of the French Republic.
This event comes after a pandemic which has considerably aggravated global inequalities and in an international context marked by an acute geopolitical divide against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine. The political and economic fallout of this war continues to dominate international news. This meeting will be attended by several Heads of State and Government, numerous Ministers and heads of international governmental and non-governmental organizations as well as actors from the private sector. This Forum will examine the main problems in today’s world and propose solutions to mitigate multiple shocks as well as the socio-economic consequences of crises and avoid an aggravation of global polarization which jeopardizes international cooperation.
The participation of Minister LAMAMRA in this meeting will be an opportunity to renew Algeria’s attachment to multilateralism and to its positions of principle advocating the need to correct the imbalances that characterize the mechanisms of global governance and the advent of a new cooperative, equitable and united world order capable of guaranteeing peace, stability and development and of safeguarding the interests of developing countries.
The Head of the Algerian diplomacy will also take this opportunity to interact with his counterparts and other heads of delegations on bilateral, regional and international issues of common interest.
